CHENNAI: Hours after miscreants hurled a petrol bomb near the BJP office in Coimbatore, BJP state president K Annamalai said the incident won’t deter the party workers.

“Petrol bomb hurled on our Coimbatore party office will not deter our brothers - sisters one bit. This will only strengthen our resolve to fight hard against these very forces who are inimical to our society - country,” he wrote on Twitter.

He also added DMK government should realise that people are watching the law and order of our state hitting new bottom every day. "@BJP4TamilNadu Let no one think that the courage of our brothers and sisters can be reduced by throwing petrol bombs on the party office in Coimbatore. Such threats will further accelerate our social work against anti-social elements," he said.

Meanwhile, following the attack on BJP office in Coimbatore, police protection was strengthened at the saffron party's headquarters 'Kamalalayam' at T Nagar here.

Barricades were erected at both ends of the roads and all vehicles entering the road were subjected to thorough checks before allowing entry.
