Actor turned Politician Kamal Hassan was backlashed by the BJP, right wing group and a few celebrities after his controversial 'Hindu terrorism' remark.

It was at first believed that Kamal Hassan was threatened by repercussions of the vitriolic remark and decided not to campaign.

But in reality the DMK and AIADMK bigwigs too, are busy campaigning at Aravakurichi. MDMK supremo Vaiko is garnering votes for the DMK candidate and CM Edappadi Palaniswamy is in his second phase of campaigning in Aravakurichi. It would be difficult for the police to provide security for Kamal's campaign.

The veteran actor then left for Madurai on road after calling off the campaign.

On Tuesday, Kamal Hassan had Ottapidaram in his campaign itinerary which too is called off. His Alwarpet residence is beefed up with security, apparently due to his remarks in his speech at Aravakurichi.
