Heat wave warning to several dists

Regional Meteorological Centre issued heat wave warning on Friday stating that a heat wave is likely to prevail over some parts of Tamil Nadu including Tiruvallur, Chennai, Vellore, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Tiruchy, Karur, Dindigul, Pudukottai, Madurai, and Sivagangai Districts in the coming 24 hours.

The temperatures soared on Friday with the two weather stations in Meenambakkam and Nungambakkam recorded a maximum temperature of about 42.5 degree Celsius and 39.8 degree Celsius, while minimum temperature was 30.2 degree Celsius and 28.5 degree Celsius respectively. On Saturday and Sunday, the temperatures are expected to climb in the city with dry condition prevalent in most parts of the state. The RMC stated that the sky condition is likely to be mainly clear in next 48 hours. 

Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 41 degree Celsius and 30 degree Celsius respectively.

Various other districts recorded high temperatures with Vellore recording highest of 44.1 degree Celsius, followed by Tiruttani that recorded 44 degree Celsius. Tiruchy and Madurai recorded 42.1 degree Celsius and 41.8 degree Celsius respectively.
