The status report was filed in response to a High Court order on January 25 seeking for a report on the outcome of the GIM. The case relates to a plea moved ahead of GIM 2019 in January by Cascade Energy Private Limited, a Singapore-based private company, seeking to stay the meet till the government frames guidelines for participation.

Cascade on narrating the manner it was cheated by Zynergy Solar Projects had submitted that such companies are utilising GIM as a platform for committing such fraud on foreign companies and that the government is duty bound to frame appropriate guidelines to protect the interest of investors particularly from foreign nations. The government has appointed 18 senior IAS officers as facilitating officers to monitor and facilitate the implementation of GIM 2019 MoU projects, the report said.
