According to the police, Balamurgugan (35) often quarreled with his wife Suvitha (25) suspecting her fidelity. Due to this, the couple decided to end their lives after poisoning their children – Sudharshan (3) and Prasanna (2). As their house door remained closed for a long time, the neighbours knocked the door but there was no response.

Following this, they broke open the door and found all of them lying unconscious. Immediately, they were taken to the Usilampatti Government Hospital, sources said.

Sources said the victims consumed small amount of pesticide and their condition is stable. However, they are still under treatment. The Vikramangalam police are yet to file a case in connection with the incident, sources said.
