COIMBATORE: AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami on Tuesday slammed the state government for its proposed move to shift the Vellalore bus terminus to another place.

“Tenders were issued for Rs 168 crore and work commenced during the AIADMK government to build an ‘A’ grade integrated bus terminus in an area of 61.62 acres in Vellalore. Almost Rs 100 crores of taxpayers money spent on the bus terminus will go waste, if Chief Minister MK Stalin decides to shift it with a personal agenda of promoting the real estate business of his family members,” he said in a statement.

Further, he accused Chief Minister Stalin’s family run firms of having bought more than 100 acres on Avinashi- Tiruchy bypass road.

“In order to increase its market value, the state has decided to shift the bus stand. If the plan is not dropped, the AIADMK will hold protests,” he said.
