DMK president MK Stalin on Tuesday urged chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami not to gamble with the future of college students and therefore make immediate efforts for students to pass in a fair and competent manner.

Stalin has criticised incumbent AIADMK regime after the letter reportedly written by AICTE email expressing surprise at state government deciding to pass all arrears till final semesters without exams. Remarking that the EPS-led regime, which puts people in trouble by doing everything in a half-baked manner, was doing same in the issue of students’ future, Stalin said the AICTE letter refusing to accept promotion of students without exams was worrisome.

Recalling contradictory statements made by Fisheries Minister Jayakumar and Higher Education Minister KP Anbazhagan on the issue, Stalin said the AICTE letter has led students, parents and academicians to rightly wonder if the AIADMK regime was taking suggestions from academicians and vice chancellors about AICTE and UGC rules or staging a drama at the cost of students future.
