Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Saturday said the State government would resume the distribution of one-time financial assistance to BPL families once the polls are over.

Campaigning for Vellore Lok Sabha candidate A C Shanmugam, Palaniswami said 2,000 irrigation tanks in Vellore district had been desilted till date with work on remaining tanks to be taken up in phases.

He also blamed the DMK for ignoring the district when in power, despite it being the native place of party heavyweight Duraimurugan.

In his address to the gathering, Shanmugam said that world-class stadiums would be built in each Assembly segment in the constituency if he was elected. “Computer training would be provided in offices to be set up in each Assembly segment.
