Dindigul Cyber crime wing retrieves Rs 64,000

Dindigul Cyber Crime police have retrieved Rs 64,411 lost by a victim as a result of online fraud. The money was handed over to the victim on Wednesday.

The victim Sadayappan, a resident of Pethanaickenpatti on October 27 lodged a complaint that he’s cheated on receiving an anonymous phone call claiming that the caller was a bank manager and asked for his savings account details to renew the account.

Dindigul SP VR Srinivasan formed a team led by ASP Chandran, Cyber Crime Wing to crack the case. Further investigations revealed that the money was paid to buy a smartphone through online. However, police stopped the transaction.
