In his complaint, Jayaraman said, "The miscreants want to link me with the case due to political vendetta. They are trying to defame the political party I am affiliated with."

"This is being done at the behest of DMK president M K Stalin’s son-in-law Sabaresan. He is doing this for electoral gains and there is no truth in the allegation against me."

He demanded the police to look into the issue and take necessary action against those involved in spreading defamatory content against him.

“There is no truth in these allegations. I have already lodged a police complaint in this regard and will soon file a defamatory suit,” Jayaraman told reporters at the party headquarters.
