Deaths still in double digits in Puducherry

As many as 571 more people were tested positive for coronavirus while 10 died in the Union Territory in the last 24 hours ending at 10 am on Sunday.

According to the state health department, 516 new cases were reported in Puducherry region, 12 in Karaikal, 42 in Yanam and one in Mahe region. As many as 457 patients were treated and discharged in the last 24 hours. Nearly, 409 of them were from Puducherry region, 21 from Karaikal, 26 from Yanam and one from Mahe region.

The department said that 10 people, nine in Puducherry region and one in Yanam region died in the last 24 hours.

At present, 2,277 persons are being treated in Puducherry region. The fatality rate of the Union territory stood at 1.56 per cent and recovery rate 63.48 per cent.
