Cong MLA goes against Pondy govt

Ruling Congress party legislator Dhanavelu on Thursday created a flutter when he raised a banner of revolt against the government over the pathetic condition of Primary Health Centre in his constituency.

Dhanavelu, elected from Bahour, along with the people from his constituency took out a procession to picket the Primary Health Centre in protest against the pathetic condition of the facility.


Dhanavelu alleged that the PHC do not have medicines, ambulance driver or funds for purchasing diesel for the ambulance.


However, police erected barricades and stopped the procession mid-way, where they held a demonstration.Dhanavelu shouted slogans against the government and Chief Minister V Narayanasamy.


A doctor from the PHC and local Tahsildar held discussions with  Dhanavelu and assured to bring this to the notice of the government and initiate remedial measures, following which they dispersed.
