Collector, CMC deny charges

BJP’s Katpadi IT and social media in-charge S Raghuraman shot off a letter to the PMO on July 10 calling for the closure of CMC, alleging that it has turned into a superspreader of coronavirus.

In his letter, Raghuraman cited various examples and said Tirupattur Collector referred to patients from the district who came to CMC getting infected. Refuting it, Collector MP Sivan Arul said, “I only stated that Tirupattur was recording more positive cases and investigation revealed that some were treated at a private hospital for dialysis.” He added that he only referred to a private medical facility in Vellore and did not name CMC.

Alleging that the letter to PMO contained false information, CMC director JV Peter said the protocols, procedures and policies developed by the hospital were of international standards.
