City’s 108 new cases take State’s Monday Covid count to 540

Chennai reported 108 new cases, Chengalpattu had 50 new cases and Coimbatore 34 cases. TN’s test positivity rate was 3.3% after 15,682 samples were tested for Covid-19. Krishnagiri had the highest TPR of 7.2%.

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu reported 540 new cases on Monday. Total number of cases exceeded 35.80 cases in the State. Chennai reported 108 new cases, Chengalpattu had 50 new cases and Coimbatore 34 cases. TN’s test positivity rate was 3.3% after 15,682 samples were tested for Covid-19. Krishnagiri had the highest TPR of 7.2%.

Active cases in the State stood at 5,437 with Chennai reporting the highest at 2,386. A total of 498 people were discharged from across the State, taking the total recoveries in the State to 35,37,496. No new Covid-fatality was reported. Death toll remained at 38,046.
