Chief Minister’s pics next to Jayalalithaa’s in Secretariat

The development comes at a time when intra-party feud in AIADMK had come to the fore. However, officials in the Secretariat chose to downplay the incident saying it was the   norm to keep the portrait of the head of the state by his/her Cabinet colleagues. Every Minister had been invariably displaying the official  photograph of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa from the day she was sworn in. However, the official could not provide a reason for the delay in following the practice from February 16 – the day EPS was sworn in as Chief Minister.
