Owing to the plea of the public and political leaders, the Pollachi sex abuse case was earlier transferred to CB-CID, which was handled by Tamil Nadu police.

Following the same, a team headed by IG Sridhar and SP Nisha conducted an investigation in the place of the said incident.

They also sought custody of Thirunavukkarasu and four other molesters and decided to start interrogation with them.

It was demanded that the case be handed over to CBI and the Tamil Nadu government has recommended and requested the Governor to approve the same.

It is to be noted that CB-CID IG Sridhar had earlier said that they will hand over all the case related documents to CBI if the case is transferred to them.
