CHENNAI: Newly appointed BJP national working president Nitin Nabin is set to arrive in Chennai on Saturday, December 20, marking his first visit to Tamil Nadu after assuming charge.

Party sources said the visit carries clear political significance, with the Tamil Nadu–Puducherry electoral landscape firmly on the agenda.

Nabin is scheduled to land at Chennai airport at around 10 am, where he will hold brief consultations with senior BJP state functionaries. According to sources, the interaction will focus on organisational preparedness, booth-level strengthening and alliance coordination in the party's Tamil Nadu and Puducherry units ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle.

Following the airport meeting, Nabin will travel by road via Tindivanam to Puducherry, where further engagements with party leaders are expected. While the BJP has not officially released a detailed itinerary, insiders indicated that the visit is aimed at reviewing ground-level feedback and fine-tuning strategy in constituencies where the party is seeking to expand its footprint.

"This is not a courtesy visit. The national leadership is keen on a sharper, more region-specific approach in both Tamil Nadu and Puducherry," a senior BJP leader said. Another party insider noted that Nabin's interactions would set the tone for organisational discipline and messaging in the run-up to elections.

Sources added that discussions are also likely to touch upon alliance dynamics, campaign narratives and the role of cadre mobilisation in urban and semi-urban pockets.
