In the audio, Pongalur Revenue Inspector Eswari is allegedly heard instructing Kattur VAO Karthi to release a sand-laden lorry caught without valid documents.

In an authoritative tone, the RI asks “Why didn’t you inform me about the lorry seizure? They (lorry owner) have been taking care of all, from Tahsildar to Collector. So release them immediately.”

Further, the RI also questioned the VAO on his authority to seize a sand-laden lorry. “How could a VAO seize the sand lorry? Only an RI can seize it.” When the VAO tells her to catch, she retorts,” You don’t have to tell me.”

The recorded audio conversation between the VAO and the RI has been circulated widely in the social media. In this regard, Tirupur Sub-Collector Kavitha held an inquiry with both the RI and the VAO. She, however, refused to divulge any information on the status of the inquiry.
