Arupukkottai hospital license suspended

Virudhunagar Collector R. Kannan has issued an order on Saturday temporarily suspending license of a private hospital in Arupukkottai, Virudhunagar district on a specific complaint of charging COVID infected patients in excess beyond prescribed limits.

Apart from Government Hospitals, private hospitals are also allowed to provide COVID care and required treatments to help recover patients from the virus.

The state government through the Department of Health and Family Welfare has already issued notification prescribing charges for providing treatment to COVID infected patients in private hospitals. The complaint of excess charge of Rs. 7.40 lakh for treatment was received four days ago and Virudhunagar Joint Director of Health Services conducted enquiries and suspended the hospital.
