Dr Palanisamy and nurse Anusha were sent summons to appear before the Commission. However, nurse Anusha was unable to appear as she was out of the country on vacation. Dr Palanisamy was present for two hours and answered questions relating to the treatment provided to Jayalalithaa during the course of her stay at the hospital. Next, Apollo Hospitals doctors Prasanna and Archana and nurses Renuka and Sheela are set to appear for cross-examination by VK Sasikala’s counsel on August 7.

Last month, lawyers of the Arumughasamy Inquiry Commission and VK Sasikala’s counsel conducted an examination of the rooms used by Jayalalithaa during her treatment at Apollo Hospitals. The report from the examination is still awaited from the team.

The Commission is set to submit its final report on October 24 this year, after a final extension was granted. Over 50 individuals have deposed before the one-man commission so far since its inception.
