While campaigning at Tiruporur on April 5 for AIADMK candidates Maragatham Kumaravel and Arumugam, Ramadoss said, “Only we will be there in the booth. Do you understand what I’m saying or not? Only we’ll be there. Only we’ll be there. Then what?” He then added, “Should it be said openly? You’ve understood, right?” The Tiruporur police have registered a case under sections IPC 171C (speaking undue influence at elections) and IPC 171F (punishment for undue influence).

Similarly, Sam Paul was booked by the Egmore police for campaigning past the permitted time. Police said it was a violation of the election rule.
