The AIADMK leader charged the government and the health secretary of having cheated the students of their seats with an unplanned admission process in the three private medical colleges affiliated to Pondicherry University. Referring to a government order which stated that counselling would be conducted in two phases and the empty seats would be filled with local candidates, Anbazhagan said when the case was pending before the High Court, the Health Secretary had ordered merit-based admissions. But the Lt Governor stopped the counselling after the AIADMK requested her.

However, the Health Secretary misinformed the Lt Governor and obtained permission to conduct the counselling, he said and charged the Narayanasamy government of having “cheated” the local candidates by not acting in time.
