CHENNAI: The State Transport Corporation (Kumbakonam) Limited will operate 750 special buses in connection with the annual festival of Our Lady of Good Health in Velankanni.

A statement from State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) said special buses would be operated to Velankanni from August 25 to September 11 from Chennai, Bengaluru, Thoothukudi, Kanniyakumari and Nagercoil. Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation will operate special buses from Dindigul, Tiruchy, Thanjavur, Manaparai, Kumbakonam, Poondi, Chidambaram, Mayiladuthurai, Pattukottai and others.

Arrangements for pre-bookings bus tickets have been made in long distance buses to reach Velankanni. "Also, contract bus services will be provided for devotees who travel in teams, " the statement said.
