500 including KS Alagiri, Vasanth Kumar and Thirunavukkarasar booked

TNCC held a rally on Wednesday urging Rahul Gandhi to rethink his decision stepping down from his Indian National Congress president post. The famed Congress leaders of Tamil Nadu were booked for holding the rally illegally.

Following the Gandhi scion Rahul Gandhi deciding to step down after a humiliating drub in the Lok Sabha election, There were rallies held nationwide by the Congress cadres dissuading Rahul seconding the Congress Working Committee.

The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) too rallied with this purpose from DMS metro to Kamarajar Arangam. 500 people including the TNCC president KS Alagiri, Thirunavukkarasar and Kanyakumari MP Vasanth Kumar were booked.

The Teynampet police charged them under 3 cases including unlawful assembly, disobedience of official order.
