Police said a portion of the house of Ahmad Basha of the Karimabad area in Vaniyambadi town collapsed due to rain on Sunday night injuring four persons.

The injured have been identified as Basha’s wife Dilshad and their three daughters Amrin, Pamela and Jabin. As the incident occurred at night, due to the continual rain the area has been receiving over two days, neighbours rushed to their aid on hearing their screams.

They were immediately rushed to the Vaniyambadi government hospital where they are under treatment while Vaniyambadi police are investigating. No case has been registered.
