According to the police, the girl from Navarkulam in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu was studying in a school at Gorimedu here. She was in a relationship with an engineering college student, identified as Naresh. However, following a fight, she started avoiding him in the recent past. Angry over this, Naresh threatened the girl and took her to his friend Raja’s house in Saiderapet on Saturday morning.

He then gave her a beverages laced with drugs. After the girl became unconscious, Naresh, Raja and Sooriya allegedly raped her one after another.

As the girl who left the house in the morning failed to return, her parents lodged a complaint with the Auroville police, who registered a case. Meanwhile, the girl came to her house around 8 pm on Saturday and informed her parents about what happened. Following this, her parents alerted the police and the three youngsters were arrested.

They were produced before a judge and remanded in judicial custody.
