2 Sabarimala devotees collapse to death in Vadaperiyar

On Friday, Balaji (43) of Karur and Rajkumar (51) of Thanjavur were walking with their group through the Sattiram-Pullumedu route.While they were walking near the Seetha Kulam area next to Pullumedu, they suddenly collapsed.

MUNNAR: Two Sabarimala devotees from Tamil Nadu collapsed and died while trekking through the Vadaperiyar route on Friday.

The devotees going to Sabarimala usually walk through the forest paths of Sattiram and Pullumedu near Vandiperiyar in Idukki district.

On Friday, Balaji (43) of Karur and Rajkumar (51) of Thanjavur were walking with their group through the Sattiram-Pullumedu route.While they were walking near the Seetha Kulam area next to Pullumedu, they suddenly collapsed.

When the government medical team in the area, which assists devotees, examined the two who had collapsed, it was found that Balaji and Rajkumar had already died on the spot.

Ayyappa Seva Sangam members are making arrangements to send both bodies to their native places.
