2 fishermen rescued, one missing in Nagai

Rough weather prevailed in the coastal areas and many fishermen remained offshore on Friday following heavy rain in Nagapattinam district since Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, Velayudham (48) of Sevabharathi Nagar, near Keechankuppam in Nagapattinam district, Mugunthan alias Chinnarasu (21) of the same place and his brother Murugavel (18), who had ventured into the sea, were stranded in midsea after their boat toppled while returning due to rough waves.


While the Indian Coast Guard, which was on patrol, rescued both Velayudham and Chinnarasu, a search is still on for the missingMurugavel.
