2 city youth held for attack on Ticket Travel Inspector

In a shocking incident, two Tamil youth from Chennai attacked a Ticket Travel Inspector (TTI) at Renigunta railway station on Sunday. The injured TTI was sent to Ruia hospital for treatment.

According to GRP police, two youth identified as Venkatesh and Vijayan were regular visitors to Renigunta railway station, where they usually threaten lone passengers with blade to grab valuables from them.


On Sunday afternoon, when they were threatening a passenger the Ticket Travel Inspector Umamaheswar Rao prevented them from attacking the passenger and in the process, the two drunken youth immediately attacked Ticket Travel Inspector with blade causing a major bleeding injury on his left hand.


The Government Railway Police (GRP), who noticed the incident immediately responded and nabbed those two into their custody and the injured TTI was shifted to Ruia hospital for treatment.


The GRP personnel said the duo were ruffians, who were roaming in Renigunta railway station attacks passengers at their isolation.
