10 held in temple assault case

TIRUVALLUR: After residents of a village alleged police inaction and protested in front of the district SP’s office in Tiruvallur on Thursday, the police on Friday arrested 10 persons in connection with an assault case in a temple.

Two gangs clashed during a festival in Kolamkonda Amman Temple recently following which one faction had lodged a complaint.

When no action was taken immediately, the complainants protested in front of the SP’s office on Thursday.

The crowd dispersed only after the top officials promised action on their complaint.

Following this, Tiruvallur police on Friday arrested 10 persons, allegedly involved in the assault.
