TN loses to Andhra

Tamil Nadu lost to Andhra by seven wickets in the Elite Group B of the Vijay Hazare Trophy here on Monday. Asked to bat first, TN got off to a wobbly start losing its top order with just 82 on board.

It was then down to B Aparajith 40 (62b, 1x4) and R Sonu Yadav 37 (37b, 5x4) to steady the ship by adding 56 runs for the sixth wicket. Eventually, TN was dismissed for 176 with Andhra’s C Stephen (3/46) and Shoaib Md Khan (3/24) sharing six wickets between them. In reply, Andhra raced to the target in just 29.1 overs with opener Ashwin Hebbar remaining unbeaten on 101 (84b, 11x4, 5x6). Hebbar and wicketkeeper, Ricky Bhui, who made an unbeaten 52 (41b, 6x4, 2x6) added 114 runs for the unbroken fourth wicket to steer their team to victory.
