The Kerala born Railway athlete, who bettered his previous best of 7.67 metres, said, “I can’t believe what I have achieved today and I am extremely happy with my new mark. I used all my skills and the speed track suited my game plan as well.” Romanian coach Bedros Bedrosian has worked wonders for Shamsheer. “I worked with Bedros on the advice of the federation. I have been working with him for two years in Thiruvananthapuram.  He has played an important role in bettering my standards”, Shamsheer heaped praise on the former triple jumper.  “My focus is to get to eight metres in the upcoming Federation Cup, which serves as a qualification criteria for the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia”, signed off Shamsheer.
