NIT Tiruchy wins overall championship

All India Inter NIT Championship-Athletics and Volleyball-Men/Women Championship were held at NIT Rourkela recently and the NIT, Tiruchy has secured the overall championship.

The All India Inter-NIT Sports and games meet was held between January 24 and 26 in Rourkela and around 1000 players from all the 24 NITs participated and the sportspersons from the NITs from TIruchy, Nagpur, Surathkal, Calicut, Jalandhar, Sikkim and Srinagar had a tough fight in securing the medals.

Later, the NIT, Tiruchy, won the overall championship of the All India Inter-NIT Sports meet for Athletics while women’s team secured overall championship in volleyball while men’s third position in volleyball.Srinidhi from Department of Architecture from NIT Tiruchy has also secured the Individual Best Female player of the tournament.The Director Mini Shaji Thomas felicitated the NIT, Tiruchyteam on Tuesday.
