Loyola College starts in style

Defending champion Loyola College started its campaign in the JIT Basketball Tournament in style thrashing Vels University 108-43 here on Monday.

Loyola, which led 27-14 after the first quarter, built up huge lead by the second quarter and was never tested. Vels University, which came in as a replacement on the first day, was well-served by its Sudanese student Ayuel but it was not enough. 

By the last quarter, Loyola turned to practice from outside the D for three pointers and got plenty of them. Vicky, Manikandan and Bala were on target as the champion won by 65 points. In another lopsided contest MCC whipped MLR Institute, Hyderabad 103-61.
