Local League: Vijay CC retains VAP Trophy

Wicketkeeper-batsman N Jagadeesan made 84 runs to help India Cements – Vijay CC clinch the VA Parthasarathy Memorial Trophy by beating MCC by 125 runs in the final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Monday.

Vijay, which won the toss and chose to bat, posted 260 for five in its 50 overs. MCC was bowled out for 135 in 35 overs, with left-arm spinner Rahil S Shah taking four wickets for the winner.
