In the first match of the day, in the men’s section, KSEB defeated South Central Railway 25-21,25-15, 25-23. In the second match of the men’s section, SRM University defeated Income Tax team in three straight sets (25-23, 2518, 25-19). In the only match played in the women’s section, Sports Authority of India (SAI) defeated KSEB in a closely-contested match. The match went to five sets. Though KSEB took the first and third sets, SAI took the second, fourth and fifth sets winning 24-26, 25-23, 18-25, 25-22, 15-12. 

The all-India event is jointly organised by Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd and Thoothukudi District Volleyball Association.
