KCG College scores thrilling victory

KCG College of Technology scored a thrilling 2-1 victory over SRM University, Ramapuram in the Chennai leg of the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports football tournament on Tuesday. Down 0-1 by the 10th minute itself, KCG fought back to win in the 60-minute encounter.

Allen Rahul led the fightback for his team, scoring the equaliser just six minutes later and the winner in the 51st minute. Vishnu Saju pumped in the only goal for SRM.

In the day’s other matches in the college category, Guru Nanak College of Arts and Science overcame Tamil Nadu Sports University 1-0 while host Jeppiaar SRR Engineering was awarded a walkover as REE Muthu Kumaraswamy College didn’t turn up. The inaugural match saw Guru Nanak College jump into the lead in the 8th minute itself. Aditya Prakash Kumar scored the goal which fetched him the player of the match trophy too.
