Don Bosco crowned Junior Super Kings champion

Don Bosco MHSS (Chennai) was crowned the champion of the Junior Super Kings Inter-School T20 Championship (phase 2) at Tirunelveli beating AVM Rajeshwari HSS by 14 runs in the final on Friday night. Runs were hard to come by as Don Bosco managed to score 93 for seven from the allotted overs.

Apart from N Sunil Krishna who top-scored with 27, no other batsman could make any impression in a match where bowlers held the upper hand. AVM’s V Arunachalam was the pick of the bowlers scalping three wickets 12 runs. 

In pursuit of a modest target of 94, AVM Rajeshwari stumbled in its chase from the outset as it kept losing wickets regularly to be bundled out for 79 in 19.4 overs. 

Don Bosco’s P Anish (4/6) and A Aasrit (3/23) shone with the ball sharing seven wickets between them. 

Briefscores: Don Bosco MHSS (Chennai) 93/7 in 20 overs (N Sunil Krishna 27, V Arunachalam 3/12) beat AVM Rajeshwari MHSS (Chennai) 79 in 19.4 overs (M Anish 4/6, A Aasrit 3/23).
