Welcome Home: First evacuation flight with 219 Indian students lands in Mumbai

The flight left for Bucharest in the wee hours of Saturday.

The first evacuation flight of Air India has touched down Mumbai airport with 219 Indian students on board.

The stranded Indian students with the help of Romanian government were brought to the country through the western border of the war-hit Ukraine.

The students were received at the airport by Union Minister Piyush Goyal. 

Another batch of evacuees in the second flight are set to land in Delhi on early hours of Sunday.

The students were really happy about the government's swift action in bringing them back to India and hoped the other students too would return soon. The flight attendents expressed joy and satisfaction in bringing back Indian students.
