PM Modi was in the United States from last Sunday for the Howdy-Modi event that saw the biggest gathering of the Indian diaspora in the United States.

Modi stayed for the UNGA meet as well met with many of his counterparts including New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

After the Chabahar pact with Iran, this meet with Iranian president Hassan Rouhani is seen as a strategic move by India.
