Over 10 kg heroin seized near Indo-Pak border in Punjab

The Border Security Force seized over ten kgs of heroin near Border Out Post Shamaske in Abohar sector of Punjab.

A BSF official said that some suspicious sounds were heard by BSF troops deployed near the international border (IB) early today. However, nothing could be observed due to bad weather, he said.

BSF troops immediately alerted the nearby sentries and challenged the suspects but taking advantage of bad weather and darkness, they managed to escape, the official said.

Later, a search was carried out during which BSF personnel recovered 10 packets (about 10.740 kg) of heroin lying near the fence, the official said.
