Militants kill two policemen in Kashmir

Militants struck yet again in broad daylight, killing two personnel of the Jammu and Kashmir police, including an officer, at Anantnag, going to polls to elect representative to Legislative Assembly on June 22.

This was however, second major militant attack in the district during the past 24 hours as three Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were killed and five others wounded in a similar attack at Bijbehra on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on Friday.

Police told UNI that militants, reportedly on a motorcycle, fired upon a police party near bus stand Anantnag, 55 km from here in south Kashmir.

Two policemen, who were hit by bullets, were immediately rushed to local hospital where they were declared brought dead.
