Atal Bihari Vajpayee critical, on life support: AIIMS

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has issued a statement saying that the health of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee is critical and on life support.

"Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has been admitted for the last nine weeks at AIIMS. Unfortunately his condition has worsened over the last 24 hours. His condition is critical and he is on life support system," said AIIMS in a statement as reported by ANI.

Vajpayee, 93, was admitted to AIIMS on June 11 with kidney infection, chest congestion, urinary tract infection and low urine output.

Earlier in the evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Union Ministers visited the BJP stalwart at AIIMS.
