In written response to a question in Lok Sabha, Jitendra Singh, Minister of State in the PMO, which looks after the Department of Space, said in 2012, 77 scientists/engineers/ technologists quit ISRO, followed by 46 in 2013 and 51 in 2014 on voluntary grounds.

"The attrition of scientists, on voluntary grounds, working in the laboratories of the Indian Space Research Organisation has been very low in comparison to the authorised level of total scientists/engineers/technologists.

"Increased technical challenges in realisation of high technology space projects, research opportunities in cutting edge technology areas and excellent working environment in the organisation, ISRO has been able to retain the talent," Singh said.
