The event, in its second year, will showcase a variety of activities aimed at turning ideas into real-time business projects. The three-day event, slated from February 8 to 11, will be organised under the patronage of the Indian National Commission for Cooperation with the UNESCO, as well as ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’ initiatives of the Central Government.
Capitalize, the student entrepreneurship club of Anna University, maintains a strong network of 600-plus colleges and 60 incubators.
The fest will have interactive sessions by experts, workshops and pioneering guest lectures. “The Pitchfest is our flagship program, which will see students scale up their ideas into profitable business ventures. They will competing in stages, from presenting the idea to designing a model to working with mentors, and then finally compete in the finals. We have allocated around Rs 6.5 lakh as prize money for this. The Bitcoin workshop is another highly-anticipated event. Entry will be limited to maximise the benefit to participants,” explained Ahil Prasanth S, president of Capitalize.
He added, “Our events such as Startup Street give students the opportunity to bag internships with firms, while Entre-tainment is a high-profile dinner set-up for the sole purpose of providing a complacent atmosphere wherein top business personnel, entrepreneurs and elite investors interact.”
