Youth murdered near Kanchi, two-wheeler taken away

A 21-year-old youth was murdered by unidentified men near Kancheepuram on Sunday night, who also took away his bike.

The deceased was identified as R Elisa, a resident of Siru Kaveripakkam in Baluchetty Chatram in Kancheepuram and son of a retired Army officer, was concentrating on singing after his schooling. On Sunday night, Elisa had gone to a birthday party of their relative in Chembarabakkam and was returning on his two-wheeler. When near the BDO office in Sirukaveripakkam, a group of men intercepted his bike and attacked Elisa with iron rods. While Elisa died on the spot with severe injuries, the group escaped from the spot with his Pulsar bike. On information, the Baluchetty Chatram police arrived at the spot and sent the body for post-mortem to the Kancheepuram government hospital.

The police, after an inquiry, said Elisa had a good, clean character and interacted with people kindly. Police suspect there might be some relationship issues which led to his murder. The Baluchetty Chatram police have registered a case and are trying to identify the culprits and the reason for the murder.
