The arrested persons were identified as Subin Babu (25) of north Chennai and his friend Sujin Verghese (27). About four years ago, Subin befriended a girl on Facebook when she was a minor. Over the years, Subin had physical relationship with her on the promise of marriage, said police sources, adding that he had recorded their private moments and had shown the videos to his friend Sujin.

A few weeks ago, the girl asked Subin to marry her as promised. To wriggle out of it, he showed her videos, and the friends threatened her that the videos would be posted on the internet. The girl filed a complaint with the Tambaram all-woman police station. Officials there conducted an inquiry and arrested both of them under Pocso Act.

Officials said the friends had cheated more than four girls so far, and further investigations were on in this regard.
