Woman on phone run over by express train

A 31-year-old woman who tried to cross the railway track while talking over the phone near Ambattur railway station, was run over by a speeding express train.

Police said Madhavi, a native of Arakkonam had been staying with one of her relatives at Ambattur for the treatment needs of her husband. On Friday morning, while crossing the railway track, she was so glued on to her mobile and failed to notice an approaching express train that was coming from Chennai. 

The train knocked her down and she died on the spot.
