Woman held for stealing gold jewels

The Puzhal police on Monday arrested a 22-year-old woman for stealing gold ornaments weighing 10 sovereigns from a house at Joseph Nagar, Puzhal.

Police arrested Reshma Kosar, a resident of Swamy Ramalinga Nagar, Ponniyamman Medu, Madhavaram and recovered the jewellery from her. The police said Divya, the house owner had complained that one of her colleagues Sanjay and his lover Reshma Kosar used to visit her house frequently. On October 27, Reshma came to her house when her grandmother was alone at home. Under the guise of changing her saree, she entered one of the rooms and looted the gold ornaments that were kept inside the bureau. She later absconded. Police arrested the accused and remanded her to judicial custody.
