Vijay Makkal Iyakkam's man arrested for selling 'Beast' tickets in black

Inquiries revealed that he bought 180 tickets for the first-day show from Kasi Talkies in Jafferkhanpet on behalf of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam.

Chennai: MGR Nagar police arrested a 37-year-old man for selling tickets of recently-released Vijay-starrer Beast in black and seized 134 tickets from him on Wednesday.

The arrested B Velmurugan of MGR Nagar is said to be the president of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam in Virugambakkam.

Inquiries revealed that he bought 180 tickets for the first-day show from Kasi Talkies in Jafferkhanpet on behalf of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam.

While Velmurugan distributed 46 tickets to the fans, he tried to sell the remaining tickets for different shows for Rs 195 and Rs 300 standing near the theatre.

On information, MGR Nagar inspector Palavesam secured him and seized the tickets. He was arrested and let off in bail.
